What lives beyond the body, in love and in memory? How tangible/intangible are those things?
Listened to an interview with author Sheila Heti on the podcast thresholds by Jordan Kisner while making this work. Heti says of mourning - “There’s the first week, and then the first month, the first six months, the first year, and they all have their own distinct character. It’s interesting, it’s kind of kaleidoscopic. I’m picturing a rainbow and all the colors, like you pass through these different bands of emotion and reality, belief and disbelief. Your relationship to the person who died continues after they die, it doesn’t just stop, it changes.”
